Obituary of Lawrence L. Howze
In loving memory of Lawrence Howze, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who peacefully passed away on 16 April, 2024 after a valiant battle with illness, he was 78 years old.
Born 4 Feb, 1946 in Kissimmee, FL, Lawrence lived a life defined by hard work, dedication, and unwavering love for his family and friends. As a proud member of the United States Army, he served his country with honor and distinction, embodying the values of loyalty and sacrifice throughout his service.
Following his military career, Lawrence found fulfillment as a dedicated member of the Masonic community, where he applied his skills with precision and pride, leaving behind a legacy of craftsmanship and camaraderie.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marlene, and is survived by his devoted wife, Lois, and his brother, Jesse Howze. Together, they shared a lifetime of love and cherished memories, building a family rooted in faith and unity.
He will be fondly remembered by his children, Scarlette and Gilene; his grandchildren, Aubrey and Koy; and a wide circle of friends and colleagues, all of whom were touched by his kindness, generosity, and unwavering support. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Lykesland.
Services will be held Friday 19 April, 2024 at 1pm at First Baptist Church of Lykesland, 2712 Trotter Road, Hopkins, SC 29061, with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park, 7100 Garners Ferry Road, Columbia, SC 29209.
Though he may be gone from our sight, Lawrence’s spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he find eternal peace in the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ.
