Obituary of Mable Hipp Amick

Mable Elizabeth Hipp Amick passed away peacefully at National Healthcare Lexington on March 12, 2024 and went to be with her Lord at the age of 92. She was born on March 18, 1931 in Prosperity, SC to Raymond and Betsy Hunter Hipp.

 

She is survived by her loving husband of almost 69 years, Harold Amick.

 

She will be missed by her loving family, daughters, Lynn Amick and Cathy Wendell of Lexington; her son, Hal (Beth) Amick of Irmo; grandsons, Corey (Summer) Amick and Jordan (Kristen) Amick all of Little Mountain, Robbie Asghari of Irmo; granddaughter, Layla (Chris) Mathis of Chapin. She also leaves behind 10 great grandchildren who all loved Sunday’s at her house, Easton, Noah, Walker, Savanna Mable, Lauren Elizabeth, Colton, Levi, Jacob, Katelynn & Finn; her sister in laws, Minnie Hipp and Janice Hipp; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

 

Mable was predeceased by her parents; her brothers, George, Emory & Ray Hipp; as well as her sister, Shirley Hipp Bowers.

 

Mable retired from the Richland County Health Department after working in Medical Records Administration for many years.

 

Visitation will be Thursday, March 14th at 1:00PM, followed by a celebration of her life at 2:00 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1715 Broad River Road, Columbia, SC 29210. Interment will be at Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC 29072, at the Gazebo.

 

Memorials may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church.

 

The family wishes to thank her many caregivers and therapists over the last few years. We thank our Church family for the many cards and expressions of caring received these last years as well.
